East Africa is calling - Zuri Zanzibar and Kantabile Afrika

Updated: Dec 14, 2021

There is no better time to visit East Africa than now. Thank you for those who have joined us live for the online presentation of Zuri Zanzibar and Kantabile Afrika. For those who are watching the recording, enjoy and thank you for making time to catch up.

Zuri Zanzibar is nestled on a west-facing beach on the Spice Island of Unguja, in the village of Kendwa. The resort offers 300 meters private, pristine beach, tropical plants, a lush spice garden and gorgeous African sunsets. Besides its beauty, the Zuri beach offers swimming and relaxation all day long - an unusual phenomenon in Zanzibar – with very little difference between low and high tide. Combining elegant contemporary design from the team at Jestico+Whiles, with a considerate, sustainable build and an authentic African atmosphere, this Design Hotel member will offer memorable, mindful, Indian Ocean escapes. The resort aims to be as self-sufficient as possible, is recognised as the first hotel in the world to be awarded EarthCheck’s Sustainable Design Gold Certification and plays a large part in the local community life. Guests who want to experience Zuri Zanzibar’s stunning accommodation can choose from 56 bungalows, suites and villas, overlooking the beach and close to the mesmerising azure waters of the Indian Ocean. Zuri’s MAUA wellness offers 3 massage rooms and wide range of treatments. Everything from yoga, wellness, a swimming pool and beach to spice gardens with its green oasis for meditation, or an outdoor “wild fitness” gym area. The reception pavilion offers a library stocked with art books, a DVD collection specialising in rare art house films, and a pool table and lounge with a world-beating view. The Wimbi Water Sports Centre boasts a large range of equipment, including sailing boats, snorkelling sets, pedal boats, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards.

Kantabile Afrika is a (relatively) new company, having opened two boutique, owner-run safari camps in the Serengeti in 2019. Cherero Camp is located in the heart of Serengeti National Park, in a secluded area towards the Western Corridor, while Aurari Camp is located in the Mara River region of Northern Serengeti.

At the heart of their philosophy stands the genuine interest to provide guests with the best possible experience, as manifested in their attitudes and commitment to doing things right. Maintaining the health of the land they love and the communities within it has always been our primary focus. With an eco-friendly approach to luxury, both camps are built to the highest standards comprising wood and canvas, with no permanent structures in place, so they can be moved entirely without leaving a lasting trace. The spacious tented suites are serviced by solar power systems and solar water heaters, so travellers’ comfort would not be compromised.

What sets Kantabile Afrika apart is the great attention to detail and importance of aesthetics. The modern tents are beautifully appointed, and the finer details of interior design are second to none. Complementing the eco-friendliness and aesthetics of the camps are the impeccable service and exceptional dining experiences provided by their stellar team.
